About Christopher Semmens, Clinical Psychologist

Christopher Semmens is a clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience.

His background is diverse, including work within the prison system, with Aboriginal children in residential childcare, in educational settings, and in private practice.

He is very well credentialed in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT). Christopher has trained extensively overseas and is on the International Referral List published by the Albert Ellis Institute in New York. Chris is also experienced in clinical hypnotherapy.

For more than 20 years Christopher has applied an emphasis on the treatment of traumatic stress, achieving remarkable outcomes in most cases. He also treats most other forms of emotional distress and psychological disturbance including psychopysiological disorders (PPD).

Christopher's early interest in efficiency and effectiveness in psychotherapy practice led to him training a number of times with Dr Albert Ellis in New York and also in other locations around the world.

An early associate of Dr Albert Ellis' was Dr Roger Callahan who uncovered and developed the tapping technique. Christopher has trained several times with Dr. Roger Callahan in California.
